Loveland Art Show Returns

A sunny Sunday along the Scenic Little Miami River in Loveland set the scene for the return of the Loveland Art Show. The popular art exhibition, as much a part of Loveland’s fall landscape as the turning of leaves more than 20 years, was missing from the autumn scenery for two years.

“It’s great to be back,” said Loveland area artist Deirdre Dyson.

Dyson is one of the original organizers of the art show which reached its pinnacle with over 80 artists showing their creative talents two years ago in September 2016. She was one of 27 juried artists exhibiting in the 2019 return of the Loveland Art Show. An enthusiastic response by patrons was encouraging to her.

“It’s been steady,” she said of the crowd during the show. “It started a little early actually. People were here about 9:30. People are interested, not many just strollers; they stop to look at the art work.”

LASM ARTISTS IN THE NEWS!

Tom Post (Studio 101)
A July 21 Artworks’ Invitation…

You’re Invited: ArtWorks’  Wet Paint Returns in July!

About Tom:

Tom Post’s love for art goes back to his earliest childhood memories. At the age of 5 he took inspiration from the Sunday comics like Charlie Brown and Beetle Bailey. Later, it came from Disney and the Hanna Barbera Characters. In his high school years, inspiration came from the movies. By the age of 17 he was creating 12’ window graphics for the theatre to promote their current movies, like Star Wars, ET and Creep Show.

He has a BFA in fine arts from the Columbus College of Art and Design and has been a freelance illustrator since 1987. His clients include P&G, Chiquita, and Kroger, along with numerous agencies throughout the Cincinnati and Chicago area. His portfolio includes package illustrations for Old Spice, branding art for Warped Wing and MadTree, and TV storyboarding for Airheads Candy, to name a few. Post also designed murals for ArtWorks and Sam Adams Brewery including “Cheers to Cincy, Past and Present!” and the upcoming summer 2022 extension.

When he’s not telling a story for his clients, he’s pushing himself in his fine arts telling his own story. He resides in Cincinnati, OH, with his high school sweet heart, Ann, and their two beautiful children. His art can be seen at the Raymond Art Gallery in Hyde Park and Green Acres in Indian Hill.

Wet Paint by ArtWorks is a free quarterly event series that offers a look behind the scenes of the organization’s upcoming projects, centering on the artists who make our city vibrant.

Since 1996, ArtWorks has employed over 7,000 youth and creative professionals, annually investing around $1.5 million in wages for artists. For the first time ever, ArtWorks is inviting the public to learn firsthand about the experience of creating public art and other arts-based projects from the Apprentice Artists and project designers. Each event will feature a series of talks for Apprentice artists and highlight one project designer from the season in an artist talk and Q&A at the event.

All are welcome at ArtWorks’ next Wet Paint event, on Thursday, July 21, at 5:30 PM at 21c Museum Hotel

ArtWorks’ teams behind its new Mural Studio in addition to the folks behind the organization’s upcoming mural projects will each be in attendance to share about what art is on the horizon for the Cincinnati region.

This upcoming Wet Paint will feature Artist Tom Post, the designer of both ArtWorks’ original and in progress Samuel Adams murals.
